I see a lot of people complaining that they can't tell which parallel they have. (Personally, that's an issue I've only had once but it was in a set that was issued for a sport I didn't begin to collect until 20 years after issue) but I'm a BIG fan of parallels so maybe I'm just more pre-disposed to them or something.
Panini wants to make sure that's not going to be something that you can say about the new Donruss Optic set.

In hand, you can faintly see the lettering below the "stamp". It's not really a stamp, it's part of the card design, I just can't think of a better thing to call it.
It is actually my first card of Sterling Brown.
He's the front. Neat looking card. Looks even better in hand. I got my second card of him the same day- the Mega Box Rated Rookie Shock promo/parallel.
I still have most of my blaster of Optic waiting to be opened, maybe I will pull the base card at some point.

DeleteHaha. I was just thinking that Topps should put "variation" on the backs in text like they do with the word "refractor" but this is amazing. I've seen this on the Aqueous Test parallels, but that made sense since I think the originals had the same thing (not 100%).

DeleteI am not a fan of the parade of parallels that has become common place in modern sets, but at least marking it clearly like that is nice. It is just irritating trying to figure out certain parallels when you have a set that has parallels like blue, sky blue, blue mojo or whatever other shade of blue.

DeleteSuch extremes. Topps has these tiny little codes that are making me go blind. Panini is on the opposite end of the spectrum with this obnoxious label. Not sure which one I prefer... but I will say that I'm not a fan of either.

DeleteI love these....It feels like someone at Panini has been reading all the bitching about crazy Topps parallels. He then runs into a design meeting and says "what if we put the type of parallel in big bold letters across the whole back." We'll get all the Topps customers!!!!
