New People added to my collection in July 2017

By now, you've already seen my series where I show each new NHL person to enter my collection. I've already stated that I will not be doing one for NBA or NASCAR, because it would just be duplicating the eventual posts in my Encyclopedias. However, while the main focus of my collection is those three sports, there's a lot more to it than that. I will gladly take any cards I can get my hands on, from any sport or most non-sports. I don't give them as much attention on Cardboard History but this series, in theory, will change that.

In this new series, you will see everyone who enters my collection that does not fit into my three main sports, with the exception of bikini (or less!) girls.  Mostly because I don't want to have to slap a mature audiences label on here. I may change my mind on that at some point. Time will tell. As is usual, with my OCD nature, you're seeing them in the order they enter my collection.

Some months will be quite large, some months might not have anyone at all to post. There is no set definition for this project, which I refer to as my "Names Project". As in the hockey post, I am probably not going to be doing much talking about the people, this is more for documentation purposes. I will label each card to what set and card number they are, though. It depends on what I know about the person, to be honest.

All of the above Japanese baseball cards came out of a single pack which was given to me by SumoMenkoMan. It is my first pack from the set and league. Every single person in it was new for my collection. It is not the only time that same situation occurs this month! In fact...

1997 K-1 #60

1997 K-1 Winner #WC7

1997 K-1 #63
1997 K-1 #37

An entire pack of kickboxing cards! I had no idea there even were kickboxing cards until getting these...and I didn't even know what sport they were until I typed in one of the above names into Wikipedia.

Now, if you remember my post about the cards sent to me by gcrl, I mentioned that there were more I wouldn't be showing then because I needed them for another post. I am sure you've already guessed that this is that post, and you're correct. The following cards came to me from Jim.
1990 Collegiate Collection Michigan State Promo #3

1990 Collegiate Collection Michigan State Promos #8
2018 Leaf Best of Sports #07
2017 Donruss #111

Occasionally a card will end up being double posted, as is the case with Dom here. I want to be able to go back and look at these posts and see who was added month by month, so if they appear in other posts, they are going to be duplicated here.
2014 Panini Golden Age Mini Mono Blue Back #24
In case you are wondering, this is the guy who founded Post cereal.

I generally only stick to real people with names fully displayed, but I will make some exceptions.
That concludes the new people sent to me by Jim/gcrl.

Every month I get SI for Kids in the mail, mostly to get the cards, but I also do read it. They actually cover other sports besides football and more football, unlike the "adult" magazine. They do push colleges way too much, though. Most of the time, of the 9 cards, about 5 or 6 of them are new to my collection.

This issue was exceptionally high with 7 of the 9 being totally new to me- and three of them being the first cards ever issued for them! (Moore, Dougherty, Chrysochos). The De Gea is now my favorite soccer card ever- although technically it counts as Multi-Sport.

The entire rest of the post comes to me from my COMC order that arrived on July 29th.
2017 Topps WWE Women's Division Matches & Moments #MM16
I admit, I'm not much of a wrestling fan...in that I've never watched it, even though it was the most popular sport among my friends when I was in school. I saw this image appear on several card blogs, thought she was quite attractive, and bought a copy for myself.

2016 Goodwin Champions Memorabilia Premium Series #M-MS
My first Kayaking relic. I discovered that Goodwin Champions cards are pretty cheap on COMC- must be e-pack, as I was actually buying most of these for LESS than it costs to list a card for sale. The Premium series is multi-color, but this is not a patch.
2016 Goodwin Champions Goudey #1
I guess technically she is a bikini girl, but she appears in a multi-sport set, so, she gets posted.
2016 Goodwin Champions Goudey #36
Kind of ironic that one of the greatest painters ever appears on a card with only four colors.
2017 Goodwin Champions Goudey #G14
Goodwin Champions actually is including some athletes that aren't from the USA. I'm glad of that- sports are in the whole world, not just here.
2014 Country Music Purple #14

She actually did something most current musicians can't do- she got me to put a current song on my YouTube playlist. (Road Less Traveled) There aren't many from the past ten years on it.
2013 Topps 75th Anniversary Authentic Autograph
I'm very slowly building this autograph set. It covers a wide range of sets out of Topps's history. I don't think I'll ever complete it- I don't see spending the kind of money needed for Sylvester Stallone or a few others- but I'll get as far as I can. I believe exactly half of the autographs of women in my collection come from this set, but I am not 100% on that at the moment.
2016 Goodwin Champions Mini #31
Probably most well-known for the tire commercial.
2016 Goodwin Champions Mini #49
And my first bowling card.
