After getting through January, February saw the project fail. I got too overconfident, and was sure I did NOT have a card I pulled out of the exact same store collated repack I couldn't find for December 31st, 2018. Well, as it turns out, I not only DID have it...I had gotten a copy from the same source, although at this late date (1/3/19) I don't remember if it was the same repack or an earlier one from the same store. By the time I got around to checking...I had done the exact same thing. I didn't recognize a duplicate as a duplicate, and with two missed days, the project was over. You can see that the first card I accidentally thought was new but was really a duplicate was February 7th, as I abruptly abandoned the post midway through, not opening it at all between February 2016 and January 2019. The football card in the project comes from the same box from a Database member that I've been holding since 2015, and appeared as late as 12/30/18 in the Card of the Day project. Although I did abandon the project and post midway through, the lessons I learned helped me make the project in 2018 a success...even if I have zero intention of every trying it again! I'm sure I did get cards on the 29th, anyway, as I always try to get gets every February 29th.
January was a success...February has an extra day this year thanks to 2016's being a leap year. I've made sure that I've gotten cards on past 2/29s and now this year I have even more incentive to do so!
This month also saw me celebrate my 20th Anniversary of being an NBA fan! (2/14/96-2/14/16)
