Goal #1 of 2016 Complete! (Sort of)

On January 1st I listed my 10 Goals for 2016 and I specifically made #1 the easiest, so I could accomplish something right away, and accomplish it I did...sort of. Goal #1, for those of you don't want to click the above link, was to finish scanning the 1989 Microcards. This was a 200 card set, issued in 2 series, with photographs of Micro Machines vehicles. I got both series when they were new, in 1989, and I had them all at hand as recently as 2013, when I typed up a checklist off my cards to post to the Trading Card Database. I thought I had them all sorted by scanned/not scanned, as I've been working on them on and off since 2013. That was not the case. I scanned all the ones still in my "not scanned" box I had them in, and some are missing. More than a dozen. Ack! There are also some that I scanned the fronts of back in 2013, but not the backs. (Maybe even before 2013, as I started scanning backs of cards in late 2012 when I joined the aforementioned Database.)

I am hoping that I accidentally mixed them up, and my missing cards were placed in the already scanned box by mistake. It's a pain to get into that box so I have not done it yet...if not, they are officially missing. I seem to recall coming across some somewhere else recently, and setting them aside so I could check them later to see if I had already scanned them or not...but I don't remember where I put them, or if that actually happened. I think it did, but I can't be sure. If/when I do find them, I will post an update, possibly in a forthcoming Hot off the Scanner Tray.

Either way, here are some of the cards I WAS able to find and scan. There were more than 150 of them so I don't plan to post them all here. You can see them all - that I can find, anyway - front and back, here on the Trading Card Database

I've always loved the Micro Machines, and I have most - possibly all- of those I've chosen to show in this post. They are still sold in Europe but have been regulated out of existence here in the USA.I typed this post up almost a week ago (I finished scanning them on January 4th) and I have not felt up to digging into the box the other previously scanned cards are in yet, so no update as I get ready to post this. Hopefully I will be able to get them into a HOST like I mentioned above soon.
