The largest team upload ever!

 Being that it's the first of the month, that means it's upload day, and I knew as of May 1st that the June upload would be the largest team update ever. On May 1st, we celebrate "Glad I'm Not Dead Day", to celebrate the second chance I got at life back in 2013. And of course, when it comes time for gift giving, that means cards! And this year it was the Factory set and a tin of the New York Rangers Centennial set. 

Of course, I prioritized scanning them and I got them all scanned successfully. Those, combined with the other cards I scanned this month, saw me have 243 Rangers cards to upload this month, the largest update ever since I began my Cardboard History Gallery nearly 8 years ago. 

Here's a behind the scenes look at how I do my uploading. The computer automatically puts them in order by title of card, and I go through and upload them in order based on whatever is oldest. I tried doing it alphabetically by team but I found that wasn't much fun so switched away quickly. Then I just slide them over from one window into the team listing, and done. It's actually really quite simple, but time consuming. Doing the team update is usually my favorite part of each month, although sometimes I enjoy updating each person's album more. I have not done the people part yet, that's always the most work and I always do it last, but I am curious to see how many people from the Rangers Centennial set will be new to my collection. I'll find out soon, and share it in the New People post, whenever I finish. 

It also put my Rangers collection over 2000 cards scanned! To put that into perspective, the Boston Bruins are in second place, with 860 cards scanned. 

3000th Knicks card scanned!

 During the month of March I scanned the 3000th Knicks card in my collection. It's not the 3000th, but the 3000th scanned. That's a pretty cool milestone and I wanted to get a post out of it. Although I have not finished this month's upload yet, they join the Celtics, Bulls, Warriors and Lakers as the only teams to hit that mark...although there's a pretty high likelihood that 5 to 10 more teams may reach that mark by the end of 2026, maybe as soon as April.

I would like to have the Knicks take the top spot in my collection tally but there are just so many more cards available for the Bulls and Lakers that I doubt it will ever happen. 

New People February 2026

 February was a weird month. I really enjoyed scanning and I did a lot of it - 1237 cards in total. This is despite the fact that I took roughly a week off surrounding the wisdom tooth removal which I had done on the 11th. 

I used the time I was recovering from that to FINALLY sort and post the Busch and Truck series cards into albums for each team on Cardboard History Gallery, something I've been wanting to do for a while but hadn't put aside any time for it. Now, finally, more than 7 years after I launched it, the Cardboard History Gallery is fully built! Now from here on, it's just maintaining with what I scan each month. 

For being the shortest month of the year, I scanned a LOT of new people...130. Of the 130 new people, 47 are women, which may be a record. I began scanning the PWHL cards and I finished the 2025 Donruss WNBA blaster I bought, which provided the majority of the women. 

Among the bigger names were Megan Keller, Olympic Golden Gold scorer, Marie-Philip Poulin and Nyara Sabally, the last New York Liberty player I was missing from my collection that got included in the 2025 Donruss checklist. 

I added 572 new cards in February, with almost 400 of them coming via trade on the Database. Most of them were people previously in my collection, but there were some new people too. 

I actually scanned almost all of them, too. Five of the hockey players arrived via trade on February 28th and I just didn't have time to scan them, and the Olympics athletes I was waiting until I had enough of the Topps Now cards to scan a full page of just them, and enough have arrived that that is now possible, so expect to see them in the March update. 

New People April 2025

 After a VERY small March, April saw an influx in new cards, which of course led to increasing the new people scanned.

21 new people were scanned during the month of April, all of them from the NHL- and all but one from this year's O-Pee-Chee, which I bought a hobby box of during the National Trading Card Day. Jesper Wallstedt came from the NHCD set itself. 

I added 40 new people to my collection during April, and I hit another milestone- 18,000 people in my collection, with the asterisk that there are people listed that I can't quite track down, which may be typos of other people.

New People February 2025

 2025 started strong in January, but I gave myself a bit of burnout and didn't do anywhere NEAR the same amount in February, Whereas January saw me scan over 2000 cards, I only scanned 221 in February, and didn't really enjoy doing them...mostly working on them when it was too cold to work on models. It's too cold to spray paint outside now, so I'm doing a lot of prep work. 

Of the 221 cards scanned, 13 of them were new people, and 6 of them were people I got a card of at the card show specifically because I didn't have a card of them...it turns out I didn't have any of Ilya Zubov but I didn't know that until I did the monthly update of what is in my collection. 

On that topic, here are the people I didn't have before this last month.

It wasn't much but anything that gets accomplished is a good thing. 

New People November 2024

 November was a fairly light scanning month. My desire to work on models returned so I did that for most of the month instead of scans. As such, I only scanned 414 cards. 

32 of them turned out to be new people, and as I predicted, the majority of them were indeed from the Haunted Hoops box. 

The 2024-25 Topps Now cards (stickers) also started arriving and added the first 5 new people from the current season for either the NHL or NBA, the latter of which I have not gotten any 2024-25 cards from yet and don't even know if they have been released. 

These were the people who joined my collection in November. While a lot of them appear in the scanned screenshot as well, not all do- I got myself a box of the Topps G-League set but am holding off on scanning them for now. I'm holding out for the Heystack system, which will hopefully be sometime in 2025. It's not really up to me but up to technology becoming available. Ever since the NY Fanatics Fest I've been setting aside any card with foil of any sort on it for the day when I can get my hands on one of those machines. There's still plenty of foilless cards awaiting their turn to be scanned, so even though I am really looking forward to getting those G-League cards properly documented, I'll wait. 

New people scanned in August 2024

 August was a busy month of scanning, with almost all of it dedicated to the cards I got at the National. 

I ended up scanning 117 new people, of which 111 were added to my collection at the National! 41 of the 117 came from the box of Historic Autographs 1918: End of the Great War that I purchased there. I scanned 841 cards during the month.

Of the 6 who did not come from the National, two came from a blaster of 2023-24 Donruss NBA that I bought online, 2 came from the Topps Now Olympic cards, 1 was purchased as a single at FanaticsFest and one was purchased as a single at my local card shop. 

Of the 7 major categories of my collection, only Football did not get a new person scanned in August. 

Non-Sport clearly led the way with 49 new people, nearly half. 

Hockey added 27.

Auto Racing added 14, all F1 drivers that I found in the boxes at the National. Basketball also added 13.

The rest were baseball and Other Sports.

Also of note, letter H became just the 4th letter to hit 900 people scanned, joining B, M and S, all of which have cleared the 1000 mark.

It took me a while to get everything posted because I was in Lake George for almost a week, my favorite place in the world. I didn't get to go at all last year due to injury so it was very good to be back. (I dropped a full can of paint on my toe and smashed it up pretty badly). I took more than 6000 photos and I'm still working on getting them posted on my main website, too. 

New People Scanned in July 2024

 July 2024 was an interesting month card wise. Obviously the National gets all the attention, and since I'm writing this just after Midnight on Saturday, August 3rd, it's hard to believe it was a week ago already. I'm still working on processing the cards into my collection- the paper listing is mostly done, but Excel is still a work in progress. I still have not scanned any of the packs that need to be scanned before I can open them yet, so technically I will still be getting cards from the National into August. 

But this post is about what I did in July, and I finally got "caught up" on new additions- which is a bit of a misnomer, as I didn't really get caught up, cards still arrived, I just didn't scan them yet, instead choosing to work on boxes of stuff I've had around a while which turned out to be a mixture of pretty much everything. Most of the time that's the most fun for me to scan but sometimes I'd rather do batches of the same set. There's no rhyme or reason to how I'm going to feel at any particular time, but luckily I have such a huge stack of things waiting to be scanned that I can work on whatever fits my mood at that time. 

This box that I pulled out happened to have a mixture of Drag Racing promos and football cards, the latter of which were given to me by my friend who has been mentioned many times before. Most of the new people however came from a batch of baseball cards a different friend sent me, which I scanned during the month. 

In total, I scanned 626 cards and 84 of them were new people never scanned before. 

It was a fun month of scanning. I would suspect all of August's new people scanned will be people I added to my collection at the National. I specifically purchased some hockey cards because I didn't have them in my collection yet, and the non-sports boxes I bought were very heavy with people I didn't have before, mostly because non-sports are so under represented and difficult to add. 

I don't expect to finish scanning all the cards I got in August. I still don't have an exact number yet but it's significant, it will take me a while to do. Luckily it's one of if not my favorite part of the hobby. 

New People Scanned in June 2024

 It was a big month for scanning. I was working more on models, but then I accidentally cut into my thumb with my razor saw...so I needed to take a little break. Luckily, it did not impair my scanning, so I worked on that instead and scanned a grand total of 1257 cards during the month. Ended up being the most I've scanned in a month all year by a roughly 400 card margin. 

Only 50 of the people were new to my collection, which is actually a bit lower than I expected, and 14 of those people came from the blaster of Hoops Winter that I wrote about in my last post. Only two other people joined my collection in the month of June, everyone else had just been waiting patiently for their turn on the scanner tray. That time happened to come in June. 

My thumb is now pretty much totally healed. There's a little tiny piece basically missing but it's basically just a divot, not even any different color from the rest of my skin. It doesn't hurt anymore, even when I press on it. So basically just a minor setback that gave my time to scan a bunch of cards, before I head back to modeling, which I plan to do starting later today now that my monthly upload is completed. 

New People Scanned in May 2024

 It was a fairly light month of scanning, as I got more in to the scale modeling aspect of my life as the temperatures warmed up. I scanned 378 cards, 26 of which were new people. 

15 of the 26 arrived to me from my friend that sends me his duplicates, the source off all the football and baseball in this month's batch as well as a couple of the hockey, including the Bourque.

New People scanned in April 2024

 After a couple of months with very few scans, I got back into my normal form in April, scanning a total of 889 cards, which is more than I did in all three previous months of 2024 combined. 

Of those cards, 122 of them were new people never scanned before, 29 of those from the Parkside IndyCar box I purchased, which will be the subject of a forthcoming post, hopefully. 

I have to admit, I was a little burned out on scanning at the start of this year, but I'm not now. I'm enjoying it again...although I do expect my totals to go down now that it's gotten warm again and I am spending more time modeling. 

New People scanned in March 2024

 It was a light month for scanning. I just didn't feel like doing it to be honest. I only scanned two pages, both from the brand new Indy Car card set from Parkside. Of course, since Indycar hasn't had a traditional card set since 2007, most of the people in the set are brand new to my collection. 

There were actually more, but I also have a hobby box which I pre-ordered and I would rather use a photo of the person rather than of the car so I saved them, knowing I likely have a card of the person waiting to be scanned. 

I hope I will find more motivation shortly. Ever since I got sick the most recent time, in February, I have just not felt like doing anything...it's led me to not accomplishing a whole lot, but at least I was able to meet my goal of getting at least something scanned each month, even if the grand total for the month was only 17 and a half cards. (I have to rescan the front of one because it slipped behind another card on the scan, but I haven't gotten to it yet)

New People scanned in February 2024

 I only did a handful of scans in January, and not a single one of them was anyone I had never scanned before. February would be different. I scanned 332 cards and of them, 42 were new cards...kind of. Sometimes I will hold back a scan instead of using it as the official first scan of that person- usually for one of two reasons. #1 is if the person's name is spelled wrong or shows the wrong person. (For instance, I've had a card scanned of Klim Kostin for almost three years now but won't use it as his sample card because they spelled his name "Klostin". The other main reason I will hold off is if the card is a minor league card and I know they will be getting a top level card. For instance I won't use a college basketball card when I know the player will be getting NBA cards in a few months to a year. 

Tomas Jurco falls into the latter category. I scanned a card of him from the 2013-14 AHL set months and months ago- I posted it to the Set album in August 2020! - but I didn't use it because I knew he had made it to the NHL. I specifically remember him playing for the Golden Knights. When I realized I hadn't seen him in an NHL game in quite some time I looked him up...it turns out his time in Vegas was his last NHL appearances and that was back in the 2020-21 season! When I did my project where I finally figured out exactly how many cards I had of each person, I discovered that was in fact his only card in my collection. So since this was the first upload I've done since I discovered that earlier in the month, I included him in this month's upload even though, like I said, the scan was actually made back in August 2020. 

Since most of January was spent working on my Excel projects, I am just now starting to scan the cards I got for Christmas, which is where most of the NBA players came from. The others will be seen in a future post, which I was going to make reference to right here but then remembered I hadn't written it yet. Oops! Most of the hockey players scanned this month came from the Topps Now set. Benoit-Olivier Groulx is the only player from the two SP Game Used boxes I bought to be a new person scanned. I actually got another card of him on Christmas but it still awaits a scan.

New People scanned in October 2023

 October turned out to be another busy month of scanning. Not only did I do the scanning I did during the month, but I also integrated all the scans I rescued, see two posts back. 

Just for new scans made in this month, I ended up with 1085 cards...but adding in the 197 fronts I recovered and it brings me to 1282 cards uploaded this month. Of those, 97 of them were new people. Two of them were recovered scans, the other 195 scans were of people previously scanned or non-people cards. 

There were three main sources of new people this month- the hockey cards I scanned, which is where a good portion of my collecting is these days, the football my friend sent me because he wanted to see my football albums expand, and the gift of soccer cards that Zippy sent me a while back that I finally got scanned. 

I should finish the stack of football my friend sent this month, there's maybe 150 cards left to do, not counting the chrome cards which I'm putting off. So they are likely to make up the majority of November's new people as well. They made up 36 of the 97 this month, and combined with the cards from Zippy and the ABA cards I was gifted from a friend on the Database and a few other random cards sent by others, that brings me up to 54 of 97 that I received as gifts. That's more than half, and I really appreciate that. 

Saved from the Abyss

 Perhaps an overly dramatic title, but it sure feels apt. You may recall that back in 2016, I had a remote hard drive crash and take some scans with it. I don't know how many, but...a lot. Well into the four digits. I thought I had recovered all I was going to be able to recover already, but as it turns out, I was wrong. 

I had a file that was labeled as "Check these", so I obviously knew there was something that needed to be done with them, but I wasn't confident of their being as useful as they turned out to be. When I was getting everything ready for my 5th Anniversary of  the Cardboard History Gallery I rediscovered this file, by which I mean looked at it for the first time in who knows how long? I don't even remember where I found it. After I took care of the album of stuff that I knew needed to be worked on, I decided to jump into this file and I'm sure glad I did! 

In total I was able to recover 1055 card scans and 14 packaging scans. That's a big deal, as it's both a month's worth of rescanning I don't have to do, and the packaging scans I can't recreate at all because I've since opened the packs! 

I was able to recover all these scans in 3 days time, so 3 days definitely beats rescanning them over the course of a month or more, since I don't always do that many scans in a month. And also, they are not all together (probably) and I have no idea which boxes they are in so I don't have to worry about digging through dozens of boxes looking for them right now- I can now stick to my original plan of pulling the missing ones and rescanning them after I finish everything and get the sets back together like they belong. 

The recovered scans weren't all back scans either, which is the majority of what I lost. In fact, I recovered front scans and back scans together of cards I didn't realize I had already scanned! In total I recovered 197 front scans, with most of them coming from the 2003-04 NBA season for some reason. 89 of them, and 115 of them if you include 2002-03 NBA and 2004-05 NBA season, which were the second and third most common recovery. I don't know why they are concentrated so much in this three year section of time, but I'm not going to complain, I'm thrilled to get these scans back. 

All of the scans were made with Scanner #3, which isn't anywhere near as good as Scanner #4, which I am currently using. I may very well end up rescanning some of them when I finish scanning everything and put the sets back together...but for now I am thrilled to have any scan for them, even if lower quality than what I can make currently. 

Some of the sets, I was only missing one known back scan, or multiple back scans, which have now been found, meaning as far as I know they are now fully uploaded of what I've scanned. I don't know if there are others that I did that were totally lost or this is truly everything I've ever scanned of them. Time will tell, but it's not going to be soon. And that's OK. I love the scanning process so I will continue to scan as much as I can, eventually I will break even and be able to get my sets back together. It's taken me 35 years to build the collection, so it's naturally going to take quite a while to scan it all. 

5 Years of the Cardboard History Gallery

 Today marks the 5 Year Anniversary of the launching of the Cardboard History Gallery, my "magnum opus" where my card collection is documented in full. Where each person, each team, each set, each year, each subject for non-sports, all get an album. But it's more than just that. There's the Alphabetical Directory which has one image for each person scanned in my collection, there's the Set Archive which has one image from each major set, there's the Peripheral folder in each of the major sections which has an album for box, pack, set, publications and more. There's the Encyclopedia where the people in the Alphabetical Directory are also copy and pasted into subject folders. 

My ultimate goal is to open a museum and Hall of Fame for trading cards. When (if) that ever actually happens, the Cardboard History Gallery will serve as the main interactive experience for visitors. A full documentation of the museum collection. (That's also why I will take literally any card, for the eventual museum)

Although I launched the Cardboard History Gallery 5 years ago today, the process behind it was much more intense. I didn't finish creating every album until March 27th of this year. It took me two years of sorting scans on my hard drive before I was ready to launch in the first place. And of course, the scanning process has been going on since 2009, and the collecting of cards since 1988, so there are a couple of different start dates I could go with here...lol. 

Here are some statistics from 5 years of the Cardboard History Gallery:

Of course photos really means scans for the most part. There are some cards and packaging that are too big to fit on the scanner tray, and the Card Show albums are all photos, but the rest is all scans.

Using the math skills of Excel I copied down how many people and how many sets have been scanned, and let it do the math for me.

I have the sets broken out very much, but I also copied and pasted to get a total of how many sets make up the overall Non-Sports category, Other sports, and my favorite, Auto Racing.

Of course this is just what has been scanned...all numbers have the potential to go up, most of the numbers absolutely will go up. The people numbers will likely go up much more than the set numbers, but since I have no intention of stopping to collect, both numbers are not complete. And I still have thousands of cards awaiting scans, years worth of scanning. Thankfully, I really enjoy it and consider the whole process my favorite part of the hobby.

How do I remember the date I launched it so well? Well, for one, it tells me on the Statistics page. For 2, it tells me how long ago each album was created and some of them were at 4 years 11 months ago. But most of all...I launched it as a birthday present to myself. Yes, today is my birthday and I have to say...this is the best present I've ever given myself. 

 

I hit a milestone in September and didn't realize it until now

 I hit a pretty big milestone last month, although I didn't realize it until just now.

You might not be able to guess what it is, so here's a "hint"...

When I updated the Encyclopedias on my Cardboard History Gallery, I discovered that I had reached the 4000 people scanned threshold for basketball! That's a pretty big deal, really. I was only 24 people away when I trailed off scanning in the spring, and I completely forgot how close I was. I ended up scanning 49 new people last month, so the milestone was hit at some point in the month. 

I don't know exactly who the 4000th person get scanned was, but I DO know the 4000th to be uploaded. That was Kai Jones. 

In the time between when I started writing this post and when I finished it, he essentially got fired by the Hornets, placed on waivers because the team didn't want him around anymore. I started writing it right after I finished the last post I published. 

It's taken me 27 years to get to 4000 people. I wonder how long it will take me to get to 5000? 

New People Scanned in September 2023

 After not doing much scanning at all during the summer, I certainly made up for it in September! With injuries to both feet I couldn't do much else, certainly not modeling which requires 4 trips up and down the stairs each time I work on models, not even counting the trips outside to paint which adds even more trips. One foot is now healed but the other is still very problematic- so I scanned. Oh did I scan! I ended up scanning exactly 1234 cards in the month of September, and 252 of them were people getting scans for the first time! 

There's a good reason why there are so many. My best friend, the one who sent me that huge box I posted about back in 2015 where I saw my hockey collection grow from 28 to 2800 cards in a single day-is a big fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He wanted to see them take over the lead in all my football categories, so he sent me basically all of his duplicates, bringing my Buccaneers supply from "normal" to "ample"...according to the Database I now have 493 Buccaneers cards, and the next closest team has 122. So yeah...ample. 

So, since these were easy to access, about half of everything I scanned this month was football, which is definitely unusual for me. When you see the screenshots, you'll see other football too...it wasn't just the Buccaneers he sent me, and he also sent me some baseball and hockey as well, both of which led to new people getting scanned. 

But wait, there's more! Since the last time I did any scanning, I was able to find some NBA blasters at my local Wal-Mart, which is the first time in a long while. I found one for 2021-22 Illusions and 2022-23 Hoops and Donruss. So not only are there rookies in there, there's also players who debuted in the 2/3 years where cards were scarce at retail and I have only a scant few. For instance, Anthony Edwards- the #1 pick in the draft now 3 years ago, is appearing for the first time this month. Interestingly enough, the first pick of the draft from last season and the first pick from this season also appear for the first time this month, thanks to Topps Now producing an NBA set for the first time. Unfortunately I didn't pull any Cade Cunningham cards in those three blasters, or else I could have had 4 straight #1 draft picks appear for the first time in the same month-something that has not happened since I began collecting the NBA in 1996. Oh well. 

Even so, with them, Football still has the largest influx of new people, with 145 of the 252 being football players. 

It took me 8 days to get them all sorted and uploaded, which ensures that I won't accomplish nearly as much scanning in October. That's ok...don't want to get burned out.

 It took me 4 and a half years, but FINALLY, at 5:23 PM last night, I completed building the Cardboard History Gallery! It has been an incredible amount of work, but it's also probably the greatest thing I've ever created too...each person has their own album, each team, each season, each set, each subject for Non-Sports. 

I have an alphabetical directory of each person scanned in my collection, sorted by letter (all subjects together) or by topic (all basketball players, all football, etc)

I have a set guide, showing an example of every major set in my collection that's been scanned so far. 

I have a peripheral section for each topic, showing packs, boxes, sell sheets, publications, etc. 

I have an Error gallery showing error cards sorted by error type.

I have a section for "hits"- Autographs, Relics and Serially Numbered cards.

Although I launched it on October 18th, 2018 (my birthday present to myself) the groundwork for this really began all the way back in 2009, it just took me time to put it all together. 

If I ever realize my dream of opening a Museum and Hall of Fame for the hobby (my ultimate goal) this will act as the catalog of the museum collection.

Now, there is still a massive amount of work ahead of me. While I got everything posted that I have scanned, the scanning project is still far from over. I will, of course, continue to update each set's album as I label them, and all person, team and season/topic albums will be updated on the 1st of each month or however long it takes me to do them all, sometimes it takes more than a week to upload everything I scan in a month. 

The last album I had to upload to complete the project was Eric Zeier, the only football player I have scanned with a last name that starts with Z.

As you can see, I also researched and wrote histories for every team in all 5 major sports. Easy for the three sports I collect regularly, a bit harder for Baseball and Football, but I did it. Fotki tracks how many times each scan has been looked at directly, which is cumulative from the moment I upload them, although when I am logged in and looking at them it doesn't count, just other people. 

After seeing all this, you can hopefully see how much work I've put into creating this and why I call it my "magnum opus".  The great thing is that although the framework is now finally built, it will never truly end...I will be collecting and scanning forever so there will ALWAYS be updates. 

Maybe some day I will actually break even and have my entire collection scanned...but that's not going to be soon, however long it takes me, they will all end up here. 

The great thing about Fotki is that I was able to set it up so that all albums automatically sort into order based on image title. So whenever I get something new to me or just older scanned, it automatically slots into place into each album. I have to admit, when I started this, I didn't foresee how much fun it would turn out to be to see where a newly scanned card slotted into a person's album, or especially a team album, which is unquestionably my favorite part of this entire project. Seeing if a new scan cracks Page #1 (120 scans) for each team has become especially fun for me, I've even written an entire post about that. 

I have been documenting the creation of the Cardboard History Gallery here on the original Cardboard History. Although posts about it get little interaction or comments, it has turned out to be one of the most fun things in the entire hobby for me, and I have to be honest, in some cases, the documentation of the cards has been more enjoyable than actually having the cards in some cases. 

No time to rest, back to scanning...

New people scanned in February

 So much of my interaction with the hobby is the scanning process, and the uploading to my Cardboard History Gallery. Over a year ago now, I decided to start taking screencaps of the folder of everybody I had scanned for the first time in that month before I moved them into the albums for each subject. I had been doing this purely for my own enjoyment but as I've struggled with the motivation to write posts over the past year or so, I decided that I would start sharing the screencaps here, giving me a quick, easy post that requires little to no effort on the writing end (but significant effort on the scanning and uploading end)

I scanned 85 people for the first* time in February 2023, and 42 of those people came from the Hero Cards which I've spoken about previously. This should be the largest influx of people from hero cards because this batch I did, a gift from a friend, had a lot of drag racing people in it. The collection I previously had DOES have people who don't have traditional cards, but with the collection being predominantly NASCAR, the numbers will not be that high at all. 

* = Mark Cronquist had been previously scanned, but I decided to not use my older scans and redo the majority of my NASCAR collection, so this is the first time he got a scan to my current standards. There are more people from NASCAR, other forms of auto racing and some non-sports people who had been previously scanned but the scans are not usable to they are essentially being scanned for the first time. 

The screencap is fairly small so I suggest clicking on it to see it larger. 

One thing I've found with the screencaps that I enjoy is seeing the date/time that I finish processing the people, and seeing the weather and temp conditions in the bottom bar. That's actually why I didn't crop that down to make the image slightly larger. This is always the last thing I do every month when I do my updates on the first of the month...or at least start on the first.
